Today I had the pleasure of photographing my dear friends, the "T" family! I've photographed them a little over a year ago, and was excited to do it again. They had to brave yucky, rainy, misty, and cold weather. I must say their little man "B" was a trooper. They are such a gorgeous family and such fun to be around. Well, it's official. I'm now the mother of a two year old. B had his birthday a few weeks back and I wanted to share some new pictures of him. He's grown and changed so much in these past two years. He's looking less like a baby and more like a little boy. He's developed quite the sense of humor and likes to joke around and be funny. The past year has been full of struggles for him, but through the aide of early intervention he is well on his way to catching up. Mommy loves you B and I'm so proud of you! You amaze me everyday!

We took B to the park this past weekend and he had a blast as usual. He has gotten so mobile and interested in everything else, that he no longer has time to slow down and allow me to take pictures. I happened to luck out with this shot and got some nice eye contact from him.

Well, it's been a few weeks since I last posted. We've stayed super busy. I attempted a few pictures of B this evening in the yard. It's not quite as easy as it sounds, seeing as how he refuses to look at the camera. My neighbors probably think I'm a crazy person after witnessing the say I was jumping around and goofing off. Anyhow, here are a few to share.

Funny little side note. This shirt probably looks familiar. Haha! He had it on in the last set of pictures I shared from a few weeks back.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing Dale, Teresa, and Oscar who make up the bluegrass group "Hello Stranger." They were great to work with and very laid back. They are currently working on several projects. Some solo, and some together. Photography Play Date!

Today was a fun day! I got to meet up with a fellow photographer and we got to photography our favorite subjects, our children! It was fun to meet someone with similar interest as me. We've been stuck in the middle of a power outage, so I've not completed editing all, but here are a few to share.

18 Months.

My little boy is growing up way too fast. He turned 18 months yesterday and had his 18 month appointment today. He was such a trooper and was a brave boy for his shots. The doctor gave him a clean bill of health and we don't have to worry about going back for another six months.

Here is a picture of a bloom on our pink dogwood tree. It is such a beautiful vibrant color. I love spring when all the flowers seem to come to life!

Last night was our first big boo boo. My son finally started walking about a month ago and he took a nice tumble last night. His little front teeth chomped into his lower lip and it bled pretty good. This morning when he woke up, it was nice and bruised.

I'm finally an aunt! My sister delivered her first child, a boy, on March 23rd. He is such a handsome little fellow and loves to cuddle! He's a sweetheart! I had the pleasure of taking his pictures this past weekend. He's also the brand new star of my blog header!

Well, its been quite some time since I last posted on my blog. I've been super busy moving to a new home, going on vacation, then traveling some more after that. I haven't had the time to take many pictures until two nights ago. I've mainly been taking snap shots of my son and wanted to try and do another "session" with him. I tried to do something different than the natural lighting I normally work with. I wanted to go for something more moody. Here are the final results.

So....It's been a while since I've last posted. My life has been a whirlwind. We just closed on a new home. We are in the process of cleaning up the new place to get ready for the move, packing and preparing for a yard sale. Needless to say with all I've had going on, I have had the opportunity to participate in recent photo challenges. I finally got to complete one of three assignments this week and I wanted to share. We had to photograph something that started with the letter "M". Proper names did not count. I of coarse chose mascara. The one thing I put on daily regardless of whether I have other makeup on or not.

Photo Assignments ( Week 7)

I participate in a weekly photo challenge. We are given three assignments each week that challenge us to try new things or improve on something we may already be familiar with. This weeks assignments were to try a photo using "fill flash", then "gloss" which was open to interpretation, and then the color red. Here is what I submitted.

Fill Flash:
My knuckle headed Doberman, Brahm. As you can see he wasn't a willing participant in the fill flash assignment. He's always been weird about camera's, even as a puppy. I've never figured out why. He's my big clown though and such a sweet boy.

Gloss:
This is a pic of my husband in his military dress shoes and pants. He hasn't had them on since his honorable discharge in 1999. We are in the process of moving and came across his dress uniform. I thought this would be a nice picture for the "gloss" assignment. We had some yellow day lilies blooming and thought the splash of yellow would be nice in support of our troops.

Red:
Yes, this is a familiar site. I recently stumbled across this red door and love it. I would love to try and do several more pictures here. The bright colors and the texture and depth of the door are great. I thought the over powering amount of red would work well for this challenge.

A Good Day

Saturday was a good day for me. I was able to get out of the house for a while and hang out with my sister. Something I haven't done since having my son. We had a blast. We attended a Pampered Chef party, then she allowed me to take some pictures of her. Afterwards we went and saw the Sex and the City movie. Anyhow, I wanted to share a few pictures from Saturday.

I love this red door, but it hates me. It likes to be the center of attention and grabs the focus away from my subjects every time, despite my best efforts.

My Little Cowboy.

Today I wanted to photography my son sporting his new pair of cowboy boots. I found these at a local antique store while searching for an old travel trunk. They were too cute to pass up. I was so excited at the end of this super quick shoot because this was the first time my son sat fully upright unassisted. I'm so proud of him. He's getting to be such a big boy.

I have nothing new to add today, so I thought I would share a few pictures that I've taken recently that I like. One of these was my very first attempt at a self portrait. Taking my own picture was much harder than I realized, but fun nonetheless.

This was an a fun shoot. I got to hike back into a bunch of over grown brush to a bus graveyard, lol. I had taken this for an assignment that was for selective coloring. I thought it turned our really nice and I love the look the texture overlay gives to it.

This image was another photo assignment. I needed to capture a silhouette and this was perfect. A playful moment between my husband and my son. I love that I also captured a sun flare. I think it gives it a special touch.

So this is my first post on the blog! Yay! I hope to update this at least 2-3 times a week with new pictures that I've taken. Of coarse, it really just depends on how much time life allows me. I hope to one day provide professional quality photos to individuals and families in my area. Since giving birth to my son, photography has become a huge part of my life and I understand the importance of preserving life's precious memories.

Technically it's no longer today for me, but my Granddaddy's birthday is May 27th. He turned 88 years old. My family was able to go and visit him and I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to capture a photo of my husband in the field.

The remainder of these were taken over the last few days. I just wanted to share these as well.
